The Tale of the Daith Piercing

On July 21st I made the decision to finally have piercings done. (More piercings rather, because at this point I already had three in each lobe). I booked an appointment at New Tribe Piercing and Tattoo in Toronto. I initially booked three piercings online, one Helix (cartilage) on my left ear, and two on my right, with Stacy. But the Daith was something I have always wanted to do.

I had those cartilage piercings previously, and I knew that I would get them done again one day, so booking those was a no brainer. I kept on looking at images of Daith piercings, and countless videos on the actual procedure. Still, I was hesitant.

I got to the shop early for my appointment. I recall a sign outside that said, “if you can pinch it, we can pierce it,” and I smiled to myself. I proceeded to walk up the stairs and was met with a rather large space, and a sweet young woman behind the counter. We confirmed my appointment , I paid the amount required, and then suddenly, I had the urge to speak.

“Does Stacy have time for a Daith piercing too? I inquired

She checked around and confirmed that she did, so she added to my booking and I paid. I don’t know what it was that caused me to speak up last minute, but I am glad I did.

The stars had aligned for me that day. Stacy’s previous client came in early which meant she could take me earlier giving her enough time for an additional piercing.

I was so excited, I could hardly contain myself.

She was so kind, incredibly informative, and explained everything step by step. I chose my jewelry and she started to prep, showing me everything laid out, including 4 fresh needles.

We did the Daith first and she had me lay down. Honestly, it wasn’t as painful as I thought it would be. She even offered a break in between, but I was totally okay with continuing the remaining three.

I hardly moved, never flinched, as she put three more holes into my ears. Maybe it was the excitement, maybe the adrenaline, or maybe it was the amazing Stacy herself. Whatever it was, the experience was amazing.

I sat up to look in the mirror and was absolutely elated with the results!

Stacy carefully explained the aftercare procedure, and I listened intently. I wanted to make sure that my healing goes as smoothly as the piercing itself.

I am so happy I decided to go ahead with the Daith. In fact, piercings can be a little addicting, I’m already considering my next one. But I’d like to let these new ones heal up first.

If you’re considering this particular piercing, I highly recommend! Sure, it can take a while to heal up, but it looks great, and I’m sure you’ll love it as much as I do.
